I just ate a load of raw garlic, now I have terrible garlic breath.  This better really be killing bad bacterias inside me because it’s killing my sense of smell and is downright unpleasant.

I’ve been eating my new diet since my last post here.  It’s not so much very different foods from what I normally eat – really the foods are just sugar free and yeast free – but it’s the supplements and beverages: I’ve been taking Caprylic acid pills several times a day(known to kill yeast), Omega-3 pills(beneficial for good bacteria), and probiotic pills once a day(loads of good bacteria) also, I’ve been drinking kefir(has potent good strains of bacteria in it), coconut milk(has caprylic acid in it naturally), pure cranberry juice(kills bad bacteria), and trying to put lots of garlic in my food.  Or like today, impatient to massacre all the bad bacterias, yeasts, fungi, and viruses, real or imagined, that are living within me, I just ate a bunch of raw fresh garlic.  Yeeeeech…   I think I smell really wonderful right about now.  :/

Yummy and beautiful. :)Pharmaceutical companies will only research things which make them money.  Telling people that raw garlic, commonly available everywhere, will cure so many of their ills, will make the pharmaceutical companies no money at all, ever.  Same with any other widely available public unpatentable product.  If you are looking to improve your health and strengthen your immune system you’d be best off: reading up on the human body on your own(this last week I read everything I could find on the liver and intestines, next it’s the immune system), realizing that researchers are fallible and also that results in studies are often swayed to prove the conclusion that the funding institution desires, going to a health food store(not neccessarily Whole Foods, there are better ones, just google ‘health food store’ to find a local one) and getting preservative-free, yeast-free, sugar-free, chemical-free real foods, produce, juices, and supplements, and last of all you should be staying away from all those drugs allopathic doctors prescribe unless you REALLY need them.  Do try to stay away from antibiotics especiallly, they kill all the good bacteria in your body and the bad bacteria will evolve to be even stronger next time, whilst you become even weaker.

I don’t believe in a lot of this natural medicine stuff especially when it gets into anything spiritual or new age.  I don’t easily believe in things that can’t be proven and I like the scientific method, that said, most human beings are incredibly dumb and the scientific method in their hands may as well be all spiritual healing and chakra hooey balooey.  No one within or out of the medical community can agree on how we should optimally nourish ourselves, the subject being that deeply complex, so it is up to us as individuals to find our own way!

I lost a TON of weight in the last 2 weeks.  Without. Even. Trying.  Ha!  Jealous?  Interested? Read on!  I will reveal all!

I know for sure that it had something to do with going back to eating grains.  I had SO much energy immediately and yet I wasn’t craving more carbs.  Nutrition is so nuanced.  You can never cut a food group out completely.  It was good that I was not eating sugary, yeasty, bleached, processed grains, but it was not even better to eat none at all.  I didn’t realize at the time that it didn’t work like that.  Eating no grains I just felt weak and unsatiated all the time, like as if I was starving no matter how much meat, eggs, dairy, and veggies I ate.  Eating bread for the first time I felt ravenous as if I’d been starving for years and probably I had.  Sorry body. :(

Supposedly when you start this antifungal/antibacterial way of eating you experience a period of unpleasant symptoms as your body purges the newly dead bad bacteria cells from your body.  I can verify that something like this is happening.  The first two days my skin was glowing like the sun and I felt amazing and ever since I’ve felt wretched.  Every problem I’ve ever had has flared up.  From what I’ve read that is to be expected.  Hopefully it will end soon.  I suppose I should set up an exit date, whereby I stop eating this way if I don’t feel amazingly better.  I have taken  tons of antibiotics in my life and I was born with jaundice, so if anyone is going to feel like their body is going through a massive overhaul with this way of eating it would be me.  With that in mind I will give this diet until the end of the year.  If I don’t see results by December 31st then I’ll stop.  I think this is gonna work though.

What you should eat:

  • Kefir preferably by the brand Helios, in the plain flavor
  • Coconut milk and unsweetened coconut products
  • Bio-K+(this is in little containers in the freezers/cold section of health food stores)
  • Unsweetened cranberry juice
  • Blue corn, buckwheat, quinoa, millet, and amaranth(no other grains)
  • Lots of green veggies
  • Try to keep acidic foods like meat and cheese at around 40% of your food intake, you want to have some but not all or none
  • Stevia as a sweetener
  • Caprylic acid pills
  • DHA pills
  • Probiotic pills

What you should NOT eat:

  • Sugar!
  • Yeast!
  • Fruit(except for tomatoes, lemons, limes, cranberries, and blackcurrants)
  • Vinegar(except for apple cider vinegar)
  • Rice
  • Potatoes, yams, sweet potatoes

Try to get a lot of exercise.  It puts oxygen into your blood and good bacteria thrives off that.  Also, have a period of the day, nighttime is best, where you don’t eat anything and you let your intestines finish digesting and absorbing the nutrients.
